Summary: Using the A/V system is an easy process that can be accomplished in a few simple steps. Additionally, it has many features to help you achieve a successful event. There is a PC for PowerPoint presentations and other documents, a DVD Player to play movies and music, and satellite TV available for any TV events.

Starting and Stopping the A/V System

  1. Lower the projector screen by pressing the down arrow on the screen control switch shown in Figure 1.

  2. Press the ON button shown in Figure 2 and wait for it to stop blinking.

  3. When the ON button is solid and no longer blinking, select your input: PC, DVD, or satellite. You must do this even if the input choice you want is already selected. Otherwise, you will not get any sound.

To shut down the A/V system when you are done, press the OFF button and raise the projector screen by pressing the up arrow on the screen control switch.

The JOIN button and Volume Control

The JOIN button in Figure 2 will allow the audio source on the west side, side 2, to be played through the speakers on both sides of Manners Hall. Additionally, the volume knob on the west side, will control the sound on both sides. If the JOIN button is not on, each volume knob will control their respective side. The JOIN button is always red and will illuminate when activated.

Microphone Input

This is a standard microphone plug to support additional microphones.

Audio Input

The audio input can play any audio source that uses an RCA audio plug, such as a CD player, stereo, or some laptops, through the speaker system.

USB Input

This USB port wired to the computer in the backroom. It is primarily used for the presentation remote.
